A comparative cephalometric study on the relationships among the facebows of the semiadjustable articulators, F-H plane, occlusal plane and condylar path.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships among the face-bows of semiadjustable articulators, F-H plane, occlusal plane and condylar path using cephalograms.
The subjects were 30 dental students with 28 teeth in ideal arch fora and alignment, with no orthodontic and operative treatment, with norml occlusion.
To determine the relationships among the face-bows of-semiadjustable articulator(Hanau Arcon H2, Whip-Mix 8500, Denar Mark H), F-H plane, occlusal plane and condylar path, occlusal plane angles, Po-Na-ANS angles, condylar path angles, Bite fork angles and the face-bow angles(Hanau Arcon H2, Whip-Mix 8500, Denar Mark U) were measured from 90 cephalograms in centric occlusion, edge to edge bite and face bow transfer.
The results were as follows:
1. The mean(SD) values of occlusal plane angles, Po-Na-ANS angles, condylar path angles, Bite fork angles, Hanau face-bow angles, Whip-Mix face-bow angles, Denar face-bow angles were 8.734.44, 75.673.48, 37.6217.68, 10.574.51, 9.958.00, 8.37.03, 5.47.59 respectively.
2. Respective occlusal plane angle values and Po-Na-ANS angle values had a liner tendency with a negative slope.
3. There were no interrelationships between respective occlusal plane angle values and condylar path angle values.
4. Respective occlusal plane angle values and Bite fork angle values had a liner tendency with a positive slope.
5. The closest to the F-H plane level were Whip-Mix face-bow, Hanau face-bow and Denar face-bow level in orders.
